Old Fashioned: This is supposed to be the first or oldest cocktail in the world(controversy apart). The name old fashioned is something to do with the tumbler like old fashioned glass used to serve the drink This recipe is understood to have been introduced by a bartender at Pendennis club in Kentucky and then popularized by an influential member of the same club. This is whisky(originally Bourbon now Rye or Scotch is used) based drink with other ingredients added are Angostura bitter, sugar cube and a splash of soda, garnished with orange slice, lemon twist and maraschino cherries. It is served on the
rocks poured over ice.
