Black Russian is a drink made of 2 parts of Vodka with 1 part Coffee liqueur. The ingredients are stirred gently in an old fashioned glass filled with ice cube. This drink was first created in 1949 by a Belgian barman and served for the first time to US Ambassador to Luxembourg at Hotel Metropole in Brussels. The name Black Russian is given to highlight the dark period of cold war with the then Soviet Union
